On August 10, Sinopec's Ordos Dalu coal-to-olefin project announced the start of construction in Ordos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a total investment of 28 billion yu.
According to official sources, the project is a national “13th Five-Year Plan” coal deep processing and upgrading demonstration proje.
The project adopts advanced technology and equipment, and the construction includes 2 million tons/year coal-to-methanol plant and methanol-to-olefin plant, 340,000 tons/year polyethylene plant, 530,000 tons/year polypropylene plant, and supporting public works and auxiliary faciliti.
In his speech at the project commencement ceremony, Niu Junyan, Secretary of the Ordos Municipal Party Committee, said that in the next step, the Ordos Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will use the city's strength to serve and guarantee the construction of the project, and use the first-class business environment to boost the smooth and orderly construction of the project to ensure that the project is completed and completed ear.
Ma Yongsheng, deputy secretary of the party group and general manager of Sinopec Group, said that the project will aim to build a national high-quality project and contribute to promoting clean and efficient utilization of coal in Chi.
Ordos officials believe that the construction of the project is of great significance to the realization of green, sustainable and high-quality development of the modern coal chemical indust.
