Solar Energy Corporation of India lowered its new tender for power generation to 3 GW

India has changed the terms of solar tenders related to power purchase agreements (PPAs), lowering the original 5 GW tender target to 3GW,
according to an amendment unveiled on Friday by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

In May, SECI issued a tender to build 5 GW of solar manufacturing capacity linked to
a 10 GW solar photovoltaic (PV) project connected to an interstate transmission system (ISTS).

Currently, solar companies in India are looking to gradually achieve the 10 GW target
with 3 GW of generating capacity per year.
Bidders can bid for 2 GW of solar projects
with 600 MW of manufacturing capacity.

At the same time, the solar company will sign a PPA agreement with the winning company for a maximum electricity price of Rs 2.
75 per kWh, compared to the original plan of Rs 2.
