It is reported that countries around the world have successively formulated research and development goals for high energy density lithium batteries, and the Japanese government took the lead in proposing the goal
of "250Wh/kg for pure electric vehicle power battery cells in 2020 and 500Wh/kg in 2030".
The technical targets set by "Made in China 2025" are to achieve an energy density of 300Wh/kg for lithium batteries in 2020, 400Wh/kg in 2025, and 500Wh/kg
in 2030.
Solid-state lithium batteries are expected to become an important direction
for the development of the next generation of lithium batteries.
In order to achieve the established goal of high energy density, all countries are actively conducting pilot research
on lithium-sulfur batteries, lithium-air batteries, or lithium-metal batteries.
From the current trend of continuous improvement of energy density and the progress of research and development, China's energy density requirements of 400Wh/kg in 2025 are high, which is accelerating the development and application
of new battery technology.
At present, some enterprises have developed all-solid-state lithium batteries with energy density of up to 300-400Wh/kg, which is expected to become an important development direction for the next generation of high energy density power and energy storage battery technology, and the development and application of all-solid-state lithium batteries has become the consensus
of academia and industry.
