Solvay announced earlier that it has signed an agreement with major aerospace company Safran to supply Halar® ECTFE high-performance membranes for its LEAP engine baffles

A partially fluorinated, semi-crystalline polymer, Solvay's high-performance Halar® ECTFE is primarily used as a protective layer for engine baffles, making aircraft engine inlets resistant to harsh environments

Solvay's Halar® ECTFE films consistently perform well over a wide temperature range, with ideal impact resistance especially at low temperatures

In addition, its light weight, durability and its own flame retardancy make it well meet the strict requirements of the aviation industry for flame retardancy and flame resistance
