Solvay has announced its new 2030 sustainability plan - Solvay One Planet
.
As part of the Group's GROW strategy, the program aligns with Solvay's mission to bring people, ideas and elements together to create progress
.
The plan identifies ten ambitious goals for Solvay to advance sustainability, across three pillars: climate, resources and a better life
.
"Through the Solvay One Planet initiative, we are setting bolder goals to address key environmental and social challenges with science and innovation," said Solvay CEO Ilham Kadri
.
Inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Solvay One Planet has made 10 quantifiable commitments in three key areas of climate, resources and a better life, and will seek to Achieving goals by 2030:
For example, in terms of climate, it is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:
• Reduce global greenhouse gas emissions

• Reduce the use of coal
.
• Reduce pressure on biodiversity
.
In terms of resources, it is mainly reflected in the following four aspects:
• Improve water efficiency
.
• Speed up the development of circular economy
.
Solvay will more than double sales of products made from renewable or recycled sources to 15% of group sales through a partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation
.
• Increase waste recycling
.
The Group will reduce non-recyclable industrial waste by one-third, such as landfill and waste incineration without energy recovery
.
• Drive sustainable solutions through innovation
.
Solvay will work with the Solar Impulse Foundation to develop a sustainable product portfolio that will increase its share of group sales to 65%
.
