South Korean engineering plastics complete the restructuring

Celanese announced that it has partnered with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical to complete the restructuring of the joint venture Korea Engineering Plastics Corporation (KEP)

Tom Kelly, senior vice president of Celanese Engineering Materials, said: "After the completion of the reorganization, Celanese will obtain a stable polyoxymethylene (POM) production capacity of approximately 70,000 tons per year in Asia and the corresponding global marketing rights to achieve global The company has world-class POM production capacity within the company

With the reorganization complete, Celanese and MGC will continue to explore other ways to fully leverage KEP's manufacturing strengths, including evaluating the potential for future expansion of its polymer and modification capabilities

KEP was first established in 1987 to manufacture and sell POM in Asia, while also focusing on meeting the domestic market demand in Korea
