Successful completion of the first small borehole coring well in North China Oil & Gas

Recently, the North China Oil and Gas Company successfully completed Well J30-4-10 in Dongsheng Gas Field, which used closed coring technology for slim hole directional well drilling, to evaluate the original gas content of He1-3 in the Jin 30 well block.

Well J30-4-10 is located in Otuoke Banner, Ordos.

In order to better understand the original gas-bearing properties in the northwestern part of the Jin 30 well block, after rigorous well selection, analysis and discussion, it was decided to implement sealing and coring.

The management personnel of the Petroleum Engineering Department of the Second North China Gas Production Plant communicated closely with the drilling team, coring tools and service providers, and seamlessly connected, aiming at the small annular gap, high risk of stuck drilling, and low coring rate in the closed core of slim boreholes.

Through careful organization and meticulous management, a total of 5 consecutive airtight corings were carried out.
