Successful sea trial of the first shallow-water underwater Christmas tree system independently developed by my country

After nearly 100 rigorous tests and dozens of diving operations, my country's first shallow-water underwater Christmas tree system with independent intellectual property rights was successfully tested in the Bohai Sea on May 14.

The underwater wellhead Christmas tree is one of the indispensable important equipment for the underwater development of offshore oil and gas fields.

For a long time, the design, manufacturing, and testing of underwater Christmas tree systems have been mastered by a few foreign companies, and my country has to spend high costs on purchasing this system every year.

my country’s self-developed underwater Christmas tree system has more advantages than similar foreign products: the “slim version” underwater wellhead system can replace traditional mudline hangers, reduce multi-layer casing tie-back procedures, and greatly improve operating efficiency.

The successful development of the first domestically made shallow-water underwater Christmas tree indicates that my country has the core technical capability for the overall research and development of underwater wellhead Christmas tree.
