Talen Energy of the United States said it was abandoning the Bell Bay nuclear power plant program

On Wednesday, Talen Energy announced it was withdrawing its second permit application
for the Luzern County nuclear power plant.

Nuclear Energy Regulatory Commission, Talen Energy said it had not found a "viable option"
for obtaining a license for the Bell Bay nuclear power plant.

In 2008, the company first proposed to build a nuclear power plant near the company's existing Saskhanna nuclear power plant

In its application to the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Commission, Talen Energy said Areva, which was responsible for the design of the Bell Bay nuclear power plant, proposed to the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Commission in 2015 to suspend the design approval process for the project, making it impossible to proceed
with the project.
