[Technical index] GB/T4209-2008 industrial sodium silicate

    Industrial liquid sodium silicate requirements:

    Industrial solid sodium silicate requirements:

[Application] Sodium silicate has a wide range of uses: in the petroleum industry, it can be used to produce silica-aluminum catalysts for petroleum cracking catalysis; in the chemical industry, it can be used to produce silica gel, silicates, molecular sieves, white carbon black, coatings, etc.

Water-soluble silicate dissociates from silicate ions and metal ions or corrosives to form a protective film on the metal surface.

Silicates can produce protective films on clean metal surfaces or on rusty metal surfaces.

    The appropriate amount of Fe 2+ , Ca 2+ , Zn 2+ , Pb 2+, etc.

According to Zhu Faxiang’s research, silicate in cooling water is generally soluble silicon, mono- and dis-silicic acid and its anions have corrosion inhibition effects.

Stericker's research shows that for water with a pH of 6, sodium silicate with a modulus of 3.

The Briggs test shows that the sodium silicate dosage of 30-40mg/L can provide effective corrosion inhibition for the open cooling water system

Wu Yufeng's research shows that the corrosion inhibition effect of 100mg/L of sodium silicate is not obvious

Zhang Shuling found in the experimental research of high temperature cooling water corrosion inhibitor that when the single-component sodium silicate is as high as 0.

Chen Jianxin and others used the rotating coupon weight loss method to study the silicon-based water quality stabilizer, and analyzed the influence of the calcium ion concentration, temperature, pH value and other factors in the cooling water on its corrosion and scale inhibition performance

②With the increase of the amount of sodium silicate, the corrosion rate tends to decrease, but after 90mg/L ( calculated as SiO 2 ), the corrosion rate tends to increase.

    Ni Tiejun et al.

    Salasi Mobin et al.

Aramaki Kunitsuqu used polarization method to study the synergistic corrosion inhibition behavior of sodium silicate and cerium chloride (CeCl 3 ) on zinc in 0.

    Saji VS et al.
studied the synergistic corrosion inhibition effect of sodium tungstate and sodium silicate on sodium carbonate in a neutral aqueous solution
    .
The study found that when sodium silicate: sodium tungstate is 4:1 (total concentration is 1g/L), the corrosion inhibition efficiency is the best
    .
The FTIR spectrum shows that in the corrosion inhibitor solution, tungstate ions and silicate ions have a synergistic effect, so that a metal oxide passivation layer is formed on the surface of the carbon steel
