peracetic acid
[Structural formula]
[Physical and chemical properties] Colorless transparent liquid, boiling point 110℃ (strong explosion), 40% solution is relatively stable below 105℃, relative density 1.
[Preparation method] The synthetic methods of peroxyacetic acid mainly include hydrogen peroxide method, acetaldehyde oxidation method and acetyl activator method
(1) Hydrogen peroxide method
The hydrogen peroxide method uses acetic acid or acetic anhydride to react with hydrogen peroxide, under the catalysis of acid, to produce peroxyacetic acid
In this method, when the chemical reaction reaches equilibrium, the peroxyacetic acid contains a large amount of water and acidic catalyst, which makes it difficult to separate and refine, and the prepared peroxyacetic acid content is not high
In the patent USP6677477, Pohjanvesi proposed a continuous catalytic process to prepare stable peroxyacetic acid, which solved the problem of easy decomposition of peroxyacetic acid during storage, and prepared a high-concentration, low-impurity peroxyacetic acid solution
Table 7-11 38% PAA decomposition test results after 9 weeks
Table 7-11 shows that when the sulfuric acid in the product is neutralized, peroxyacetic acid can still maintain a higher concentration after several weeks, and metal impurities have little effect on the decomposition of PAA
(2) Acetaldehyde oxidation method
Acetaldehyde can be oxidized to obtain acetic acid, and peroxyacetic acid can be obtained by changing the conditions of acetaldehyde oxidation and lowering the reaction temperature
This reaction is more complicated.
