In December 2016, Tianjin was awarded the "Broadband China" Demonstration City Best Practice Award
at the "Broadband China" Urban Development Mayors Forum and the "Broadband China" Demonstration City Construction Achievement Exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments.
Since Tianjin was selected as one of the first demonstration cities (city clusters) of "Broadband China" in 2014, it has issued policies and measures such as the "Broadband Tianjin" Implementation Plan (2014-2016), continuously strengthened close cooperation with telecom operators, jointly promoted the construction of broadband networks, accelerated the optimization and upgrading of broadband networks, improved the application level of broadband networks, promoted the continuous improvement of the broadband network industry chain, enhanced the security guarantee capability of broadband networks, and reached the leading level
of broadband network infrastructure in China.
