Toray Announces Price Increases for PA6, PA66, Polyester Fiber and Other Products

Toray recently announced that from May, the prices of 10 products such as PA6, PA66, polyester fibers for industrial and apparel use in all sales channels will be raised by 40-100 yen/kg

Regarding the reasons for this price increase, Toray Group stated:

The price trend of raw materials such as synthetic fibers PA6 and PA66 purchased by the company has been in the high price range since last autumn

The price of base crude oil temporarily rose due to the increase in demand due to the recovery of the global economy, tight supply and demand caused by oil-producing countries restricting production increases, supply concerns, and the rapid depreciation of the Japanese yen

Under such circumstances, we see that the supply system of synthetic fiber raw materials and rough processing raw materials centered on domestic suppliers is being readjusted, and prices are also rising further

In addition, domestic and seaborne prices have started to rise against the backdrop of a severe shortage of shipping containers, as have the prices of accessories and energy such as utilities/fuels, which are not something companies can solve alone
