Toray builds a new high-performance carbon fiber production line

Recently, Toray announced that its European subsidiary will invest about 100 million euros to build a new high-performance carbon fiber production line
at its plant in southwestern France.

Construction of the line is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2023 and is expected to start production by the end of 2025, adding 1,000 tons
of capacity.
The investment will also create about 50 new jobs
at the plant, the company added.
Toray said the new production line will allow the company to meet the growing demand
for high-performance carbon fiber in France and other European countries.
The company notes that high-performance carbon fiber products are well suited for high-tech industries such as renewable energy, nuclear and aerospace

Toray said that since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Toray Carbon Fiber Europe has adjusted its business model, shifting its business focus from the aerospace market to the industrial sector
related to green energy production and the development of new transportation solutions.
