polymer producer Total Petrochemical and Refining Corp has ended production of polypropylene at its petrochemical plant in La Porte, Texas, according to a client letter received by S&P Global Platts on Aug.

A force majeure statement for the product

The plant's PP copolymer products have been in a state of force majeure since December 17 last year
.

The company previously said the unit would restart on February 6 as planned
.

The company also said earlier that it expected to resume normal production in early April
.

It is understood that the nameplate capacity of the plant totals 1.

S&P Global Platts last assessed the price of PP homopolymer at $2,976-2,998/ton, unchanged from August 26, and assessed the price of PP copolymer at $3,020-3,042/ton on August 25
