The Maoba 505-1 and the Maoba 506-1T are two rolling evaluation wells deployed in the Maoba block by the researchers of the Natural Gas Development Institute.
The purpose is to improve the complex high-steep structural zone of the Maoba gas reservoir and the thin and poor reservoirs of the Fei 3 member.

Under the guidance of the integration of geology and geophysics, the scientific research personnel of the Natural Gas Development Institute of the Exploration and Development Research Institute have used compressed sensing technology to realize the fine description of the low-porosity and low-permeability thin shoal reservoirs in the complex structural zone, and successfully implemented the Two wells, of which the Maoba 505-1 well produces 515,000 cubic meters of gas per day, and the Maoba 506-1T produces 223,000 cubic meters of gas per day.
The high and stable production of these two wells strongly confirms the theoretical understanding of the northern Puguang area that deposits first and then faults to form reservoirs.
