    Uzbekistan announces shortlist for a 600 MW solar project tender

    The government of Uzbekistan recently announced the shortlist of shortlisted candidates for the 600 MW solar project tender
    .

    Regarding 2 200MW solar PV projects, the Ministry of Energy has selected 15 bidders, including Masdar Abu Dhabi, Jinko Power, Marubeni of Japan, Total Eren and Scatec Solar
    of Norway.

    The solar projects that are expected to be awarded through this tender are located in the Kattakurgan district of Samarkand and the Gallaolarol district
    of the Jizzakh region.

    Separately, in the final stage of the competition for a 200-megawatt solar power plant in Sherabad district of Surkhandarya province in southeastern Uzbekistan, 11 bidders have been selected, including Saudi hydropower company ACWA, Japan's Marubeni, Total Eren, India's national power and Renew Power, among others

    Uzbekistan aims to increase its share of installed renewable energy capacity to 5 GW within the next 10 years

    It is holding a series of tenders, some of which are assisted by the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC), to achieve this goal
