Vietnam Oil & Gas to build new petrochemical complex

Recently, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group announced that the company has advised the government to invest in the construction of a petrochemical complex and a national crude oil and refined oil reserve in the Long Son Oil and Gas Industrial Park in Long Son Township, Vung Tau City

Vietnam Oil and Gas Group said that after the completion of the first phase of the petrochemical complex project, 12 million to 13 million tons of crude oil will be used every year

Vietnam Oil & Gas Group plans to submit relevant application materials to the government in January 2023 and a feasibility study report from June to December 2023

Nguyen Quoc Thio, chairman of the Vietnam Petroleum Association, said that the gasoline consumption demand in Vietnam is expected to be around 18 million tons in 2020, 25 million tons in 2025, 33 million tons in 2030, and will continue to increase thereafter

Currently, there are two petrochemical complexes in operation in Vietnam, namely the Yisan Petrochemical Complex in Thanh Hoa Province, with Japan’s Idemitsu Kosan as its main investment, and the Rongju Petrochemical Complex in Quang Ngai Province operated by Vietnam Oil & Gas Group
