Scientists from Tomsk University of Technology and Ural Federal University have studied the eco-efficiency of different types of waste fuel mixtures and believe that they can be used as raw materials for thermal power plants.
Researchers from Tomsk University of Technology pointed out that in the context of the continuous increase in global energy consumption, the use of fossil fuels will cause a large amount of gas and solid waste to be discharged into the environment.
The researchers pointed out that one of the solutions to this crisis is to use an aqueous fuel suspension, which is based on by-products of coal and petroleum processing, solid household waste, waste from the wood processing industry, and other biomass.
Studies have shown that the concentration of sulfur and nitrogen oxides in the combustion process of the fuel mixture is 70% lower than that of coal.
