A tornado swept through parts of Kentucky on Dec.
11, knocking out power at the company's PVC complex in Kentucky, but the unit was not damaged, a Westlake spokesman said
.

"A large tornado passed approximately 5 miles south of the
plant.
While the plant was not damaged, it lost all power, which has affected the plant's near-term operations,
" spokesman Chip Swearngan said in a statement.

On December 13, Swearngan confirmed that power had been restored to the complex and the units were running
.
The complex has a 680,388 t/y PVC unit, a 680,000 t/y upstream vinyl chloride monomer unit, a 331,763 t/y cracker and a chlor-alkali unit that can produce 249,475 t/y of chlorine and 274,423 t/y of caustic soda
