World's largest phenol/acetone plant starts up

On March 7, the Phase II phenol/acetone project of Zhejiang Petrochemical Co.

The second phase of the phenol/acetone plant undertaken by the company is a newly built plant, with an annual output of 400,000 tons of phenol and 250,000 tons of acetone, covering an area of about 42,900 m².

The company has successively formed a chemical production safety relief device, a vertical equipment with a spray device, a tower supported by an intermediate skirt, and a system for separating phenol and acetophenone from tar.

After the device is put into operation, various data have reached the design indicators, the consumption of public works is lower than the design indicators, and the product quality indicators and material consumption of the device are at the international leading level, far higher than similar products produced by other process technologies
