16 new confirmed cases of 22 cases, all imported from abroad

August 16th, from 00:24, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 22 new confirmed cases, all of which were imported from abroad (8 cases in Guangdong, 4 cases in Yunnan, 3 cases in Shanghai, 3 cases in Shaanxi, 2 cases in Sichuan, 1 case in Fujian, 1 case in Shandong);
28 new cases were cured and discharged from hospital on the same day, 1,517 close contacts were released from medical observation, and 4 fewer serious cases were reported than the previous day.
202 confirmed cases (no serious cases) and 4 suspected cases from overseas. A total of 2300 confirmed cases, a total of 2098 cases of cured discharge, no deaths.
As of 2400 hours on August 16, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 612 confirmed cases (of which 30 were serious cases), a total of 79,603 cases had been cured and discharged from hospital, 4634 cumulative deaths had been reported, 84,849 confirmed cases had been reported and 4 suspected cases had been reported. A total of 806,649 close contacts were traced, and 19,207 close contacts were still under medical observation.
31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 37 new cases of asymptomatic infection (36 cases imported from abroad);
received a total of 5010 confirmed cases from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Of these,
4480 cases (3,549 discharges, 69 deaths), 46 cases (46 discharges) in the Macao Special Administrative Region, and 484 cases in
regions (450 discharges and 7 deaths).
