    Food Safety News Network, a man was sentenced in Arizona for poisoning food in a retail store.
     
    David Lohr was sentenced to 10 years of probation in Arizona on Oct.

    This sentence is in addition to
    the 2021 federal prison sentence.
    Lohr is accused of adding poison or other harmful substances
    to multiple retail stores in the Phoenix metropolitan area in October 2018.
     
    According to Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, the charges are one criminal damage, one second-degree felony, and two counts
    of adding poison or other harmful substances to food, drink or medication.
     
    Lohr was first arrested
    in October 2018 for vandalizing food at Safeway, Walgreens and Target stores in the Phoenix area.
    Store employees told first responders that Lohr poured vinegar and hydrogen peroxide over food
    .
    The Maricopa County Prosecutor's Office charged him with criminal damage
    .
    According to a statement issued shortly after the incident, frozen pizza, ice cream, fresh beef, pork and chicken products were damaged
    at several Target stores in the area.
     
    Lohr was arrested and went to California
    after being released.
    In February 2019, the FBI arrested him
    in California on charges similar to the destruction of consumer products.
    According to an FBI press release, Lohr was seen pouring bleach into refrigerators and freezers filled with packaged consumer goods, such as ice, alcoholic beverages and packaged frozen seafood
    , in surveillance video in supermarkets in multiple Southern California cities.
     
    Lohr was later sentenced in October 2021 to 51 months in federal jail, followed by three years of release from mental health services supervision

    According to a press release from the Attorney General of Arizona, no illnesses
    related to the consumption of destroyed products were reported.
    Lohr was ordered to pay $390 to Albertsons/Safeway and undergo a mental health assessment
