, Luo Yongting, an associate professor at the Agricultural University of China, and a team of academicians from the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences revealed a new mechanism for pulmonary vascular reconstruction, and proposed a new treatment strategy for targeting vascular reconstruction to treat pulmonary hypertension. The paper was published in Nature -Newsletter.
pulmonary hypertension is a serious threat to the life of patients cardiovascular disease, the root cause of which is that it can not effectively reverse pulmonary vascular reconstruction. Therefore, it is of great significance to identify the new target for regulating pulmonary vascular reconstruction and to explore the effectiveness of the target, and to propose a new strategy for pulmonary hypertension treatment.
study found that there was a specific high table of cell membrane subject CD146 on smooth muscle cells at the site of pulmonary hypertension lesions, and that the amount of expression was positively related to pulmonary pressure. Further exploration of its molecular mechanism found that CD146 and the low oxygen induction factor HIF-1 alpha expression mutually promote the formation of low oxygen reprogramming signal axis. The activeness of this signal axis can promote ideotype transformation events such as malignant proliferation, migration and secretion of extracellular substrates of smooth muscle cells. This shows that anti-CD146 monoclonal antibodies have the potential to target the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
this study provides a potential new target for pulmonary hypertension therapy and helps to develop a new treatment strategy for targeted vascular reconstruction to treat pulmonary hypertension. (Source: Li Chenyang, China Science Journal)
