The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University announced on the 8th that the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) equipment jointly developed by the hospital, the National Biomedical Materials Engineering Technology Research Center of Sichuan University and the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University is the first to enter the clinical stage in China

ECMO can provide continuous extracorporeal respiration and circulation for patients with severe cardiopulmonary failure and gain valuable time for rescue
