Britain and Japan are working together to fight the incurable disease

british and Japanese medical researchers will work together to advance research into some of the most debilitating degenerative diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease and arthritis.The partnership includes a 10 million pound project led by the British Medical Research Council (UKMRC) and the Japan Medical Research and Development Agency (AMED) to promote regenerative medicine.The research program aims to help understand the critical regeneration processes of human health and translate research into tools and techniques for treating patients. This may help develop new treatments for a variety of types of cancer, including brain tumours or leukemia, as well as repair damage caused by degenerative diseases such as motor neurone disease, Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis.The news comes shortly after the announcement of a new long-term plan for the NHS to work with the aging society challenges of modern industrial strategies to help people age better and use technology to detect and prevent disease more quickly.Greg Clark, the business secretary, said of the partnership:"The UK and Japan are home to some of the most innovative companies in the world and we share the same fundamental belief in the power of businesses to improve the lives of citizens."
