    The Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Fisheries and Workers (FFAW) stated that based on this year’s scientific assessment, DFO managers are cautiously optimistic about the six crab producing areas (CFAs), which is a welcome to the fishing industry.

    On April 5th, the 3L, 3N, and 3O fishing season in Canada's largest snow crab production area was officially launched, with a quota of 23,648 tons.
    The fishing season in other producing areas will start on April 19 or 26, and the production season will end on July 31.
     
    Last year, the Newfoundland and Labrador snow crab production season in Canada was postponed for several weeks due to the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
    It is expected that this year's production season will proceed on schedule.
