Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a global disease with a significant upward incidence

On August 30, 2022, Professor Wang Quan and Professor Yao Zhi of the School of Basic Medical Sciences of Tianjin Medical University and Tianjin Institute of Immunology collaborated to publish a paper online in the journal Cell Reports " Enterobacter ludwigii protects DSS-induced colitis through choline-mediated immune tolerance"

The study obtained a strain with remission of experimental colitis by screening Entrerobacter ludwigii

The study proposes a novel mechanism by which intestinal symbiotic bacteria affect intestinal homeostasis by interacting with the intestinal mucosal immune system, and provides a potential new treatment

The researchers first induced a mouse model of colitis by combining multiple antibiotics with DSS and found that mice in the metronidazole treatment group exhibited a phenotype

Mechanistic studies have found that this strain significantly increases the number and proportion
