From October 9th to 10th, Huazhong Agricultural University and Jilin Research Institute of China Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy held "Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Restoration of Saline-alkali Land, and Soil Fertility Field Observation Seminar" in Changchun City and Baicheng City, Jilin Province
China's saline-alkali lands are mostly concentrated in arid and semi-arid areas, agricultural and animal husbandry interlaced areas and other underdeveloped areas.
The agricultural public welfare project "Soil Fertilization and Reasonable Farming System in the Northern First Crop Area" led by Academician Fu Tingdong has achieved better results by exploring saline-alkali-tolerant rapeseed as feed and green manure, developing a combination of planting and breeding, and recycling agriculture.
At the seminar, Academician Fu Tingdong introduced that saline-alkali-tolerant rape is the most beneficial field crop for the restoration and utilization of saline-alkali land.
At the rapeseed planting site and silage site in Xinhu Town, Changchun City, Shen Li, general manager of Xinmu Technology Company, introduced that through cooperation with academician Fu Tingdong’s scientific research team, two-season feed rapeseed planting and feeding cattle trials were carried out.
