Boston lobster imports and exports are recovering from a trade war in 2020, and U.S. exporters had hoped to earn another income from the Chinese market as the Spring Festival approaches, but the recent increase in China's inspection of imported food has made it more difficult for Bolong's trade, the Associated Press reported. Mike Marceau, vice president of The Lobster Co., a U.S. lobster exporter, said business had been busy during the Spring Festival and the market had become pretty cold this year:
"We sold a lot of lobster from last year's Spring Festival until a few weeks ago.
but recently with the Chinese New Year, we have lost this market.
" Spring Festival is usually a busy period of passenger flow, this year's situation is different, the government to prevent and control the outbreak of travel restrictions, resulting in Chinese customers to buy lobster products significantly reduced.
, the decline in mobility means the restaurant industry will not thrive, especially at high-end gala dinners.
mike Tourkistas, CEO of Truefoods, a Massachusetts exporter, said U.S. businesses must be prepared this year, lobster exports may be down from the previous year, air capacity problems remain and many flights will no longer be available.
