Led by China, experts from Japan, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries participated in the formulation of the international standard for stem cells ISO24603 "General Requirements for Human and Mouse Pluripotent Stem Cells" The release ceremony was held in Beijing on September 24, which will provide strong support

The reporter learned from the third China Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Collaborative Innovation Platform Conference and Standard Conference held on the same day that ISO24603 stipulates the requirements for the
establishment and cultivation of pluripotent stem cells, biological characteristics, quality control, information management, distribution and transportation.

A number of experts from the Biotechnology Committee of the International Organization for Standardization said that ISO24603 is based on the international consensus reached by experts from various countries of the International Organization for Standardization, which is of great significance to the standardization of the entire stem cell industry and human health, and looks forward to China's work on stem cell standards to establish an international benchmark
for the stem cell field.

In addition, the meeting also issued a national standard "General Principles of Cell Aseptic Detection", as well as 7 group standards such as "Technical Specifications for Ethical Review of Human Stem Cell Research", covering scientific research, clinical and industrial aspects, and systematically stipulating the ethics of human stem cell research, the key quality attributes of stem cells and their derivatives, quality control, etc.
, forming a basic consensus in the field of stem cells in China, and also the technical support and basic guarantee for
stem cell industrialization.

According to reports, the above standards are mainly formulated by the China Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Collaborative Innovation Platform, the Standards Working Committee of the Chinese Society for Cell Biology, and the Stem Cell Biology Branch of the Chinese Society for Cell Biology in the United Nations, and the relevant work
will continue to be standardized in basic stem cell research, clinical and industrial transformation in the future.
