The oil crop stress biology and resistance improvement team of the Oil Crop Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in conjunction with the relevant team of the Chengdu Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, established a new gene editing method for rape and cabbage.

Hu Qiong, one of the corresponding authors of the paper and a researcher at the Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that rape and cabbage are the main sources of vegetable edible oil and cruciferous vegetables for mass consumption.

Hu Qiong said that the establishment of comprehensive and efficient biotechnology is an important way for crop genetic improvement.
