On July 15, 2021, Wang Zefeng's research group from Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences officially published in Science Bulletin the title "A systematic survey of PRMT interactomes reveals the key roles of arginine methylation in the global control of RNA splicing and translation "Research papers
The PRMT family is a class of enzymes that can modify the nitrogen atom of the arginine guanidine group with monomethyl and dimethyl.
Studies have shown that the human PRMT interaction group has a high degree of overlap with known methylarginine-containing proteins, and there is a compensation effect between different PRMTs, which is mainly manifested in the significant overlap between their substrates and the methylation of the substrate.
This research systematically links each PRMT and arginine methylation event, and provides new insights into the biological functions of PRMT, revealing the key function of arginine methylation in RNA processing and translation regulation
Researcher Wang Zefeng, Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is the corresponding author of the article, and Dr.
