    Magnetic reconnection is the physical process in which two sets of magnetic field lines with opposite components approach each other and reconnect


    Researcher Yan Xiaoli's team mainly used the high temporal and high spatial resolution data of the one-meter New Vacuum Solar Telescope (NVST) of the Fuxian Lake Solar Observatory of the Yunnan Observatory, combined with the multi-band observations of the Space Telescope Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), Hinode/EIS Spectra and X-ray data from RHESSI, GOES and other satellites, combined with self-developed high-precision numerical simulations, have studied in detail the large solar flare event that occurred in the active region 11967 on February 2, 2014


    This study reveals the fine physical process of fast magnetic reconnection in solar flares, and further deepens the understanding of the basic physical process of magnetic reconnection.
