With funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (approval numbers: 22090042, 21731001, 21971009), the team of Professor Xing Xianran of the University of Science and Technology Beijing has made new progress in the study of the abnormal thermal expansion behavior of rare earth permanent magnetic materials
Invar is a kind of zero (low) thermal expansion metal material.
Professor Xianran’s team introduced part of Co atoms (R=rare earth element) into the classic rare earth permanent magnet compound R 2 Fe 17 to prepare a single-phase negative thermal expansion Ho 2 (Fe,Co) 17 magnetic material.
The above-mentioned single-phase zero-expansion materials exhibit inherent brittleness, and the machining performance is in urgent need of improvement
