Acetic acid is a commonly used chemical raw material in the production of many polymers, food and pharmaceuticals

In response to the above problems, the research team developed an intermetallic compound CuPd with an ordered arrangement of copper-palladium atoms.

The research team used the CuPd catalyst to conduct CORR tests in a flow electrolysis cell, achieving a Faradaic efficiency of ~70% acetic acid and an acetic acid partial current density of 425 mA·cm-2, and the production rate of acetic acid can reach 1.
