2020 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Biochemistry of the Beijing Concord Medical College. Mr. Wu Xian is a Chinese biochemist, nutritionist, medical educator, the first
of the Central Research Institute, the main founder of China's biochemistry discipline. In 1920, he founded the Department of Biochemistry at Concord Medical College, and in 1924 he served as dean of the Department, serving as director of the Department of Biochemistry at Concord Medical College in Beijing, a professor, a member of the three-member leadership group of the School of Medicine, and the first Chinese nationality director of the school.
