2, 2019, medical device company DirectMed Parts and Service announced that it had acquired Medical Systems Technologies (MST), a medical systems technology company, according to U.S. Business News. Financial terms have not been disclosed for this acquisition.Founded in 1997 in California, DirectMed is a leading medical imaging components and services company. DirectMed is the most trusted and professional medical imaging parts and services company. DirectMed specializes in CT and MRI parts and services, working directly with engineers and service professionals to deliver high-quality parts to customer sites as quickly as possible, minimizing downtime on critical equipment.DirectMed is owned by Mercury Partners, a private investment firm that buys U.S. companies with revenues of between $100,000 and $50 million in business and healthcare services.MST is a medical imaging equipment component company based in Longmont, Colorado, USA, that provides professional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computer fault scanning (CT) component-level repairs and tests for all major medical imaging OEM products, including GE, Philips, Siemens Foundma and Toshiba.Founded by Bruce Smith, an electrical engineer with 40 years of medical imaging experience, the company's founder has worked at GE Healthcare for 16 years. Prior to founding MST, Bruce was Vice President of Sonora Medical Systems. Bruce has extensive experience in process control, process improvement, experimental design, lean and six sig codes. Both DirectMed and MST are ISO 13485:2016 certified and comply with the quality management system of ISO 13485:2016, which complies with the most stringent regulations in the medical device market.Brad de Koning, chief executive of DirectMed, said: "In our 10 years of collaboration, we have handed over the most complex electronic repairs to the MST. This acquisition accelerates our plan to vertically integrate and control additional critical component service functions and quality metrics. DirectMed will rebrand its MST business, operate its Colorado plant, retain its former staff, and appoint Bruce Smith as our senior engineer. Bruce Smithengineer at DirectMed, said: "DirectMed offers parts and services that are ideal for healthcare systems technology. DirectMed has made a concerted effort to outsource more imaging parts repair functions, so the acquisition of MST is a natural choice. MST will benefit greatly from DirectMed's large customer base, financial and operational resources, and commitment to providing parts and services for the latest technologies. Tanner LoRusso, vice president of sales at DirectMed, added: "We are able to repair components for highly faulty parts of MRI, CT and PET/CT systems manufactured by GE, Siemens, Philips and Toshiba, including RF, gradient amplifiers, power supplies and auxiliary electronics. We also provide round-the-clock technical support to end customers, field service engineers and biomedical engineers. " (Arterial mesh)
