    Drinking alcohol is harmful to health, and many people have realized it

    Every drop you drink is hurting your brain

    In March 2022, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania published a study titled "The Relationship Between Alcohol Consumption and Grey and White Matter Volume" in the journal Nature Communications, a sub-issue of the journal Nature.

    In the study, the researchers analysed the association between alcohol intake and brain structure in 36,678 healthy middle-aged and older adults from the UK Biobank, using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques to calculate different brain regions.

    To gain a deeper understanding of the effects of alcohol consumption on the brain, the researchers compared the brain shrinkage associated with alcohol consumption with the brain shrinkage associated with aging

    1 unit of alcohol (about 8 grams of alcohol) per day is equivalent to half a year of brain aging;

    2 alcohol units per day (about 16 grams of alcohol), the brain aged 2 years;

    3 alcohol units per day (about 24 grams of alcohol), brain aging for 3.

    4 alcohol units per day (about 32 grams of alcohol), the brain ages over 10 years

    You know, the most common liquors on the market are low (38%vol) and high (52%vol)

    Alcoholism equals chronic suicide

    Drinking alcohol is not the most terrible thing for brain aging, but the most terrible and deadly injury is cerebral hemorrhage!

    Wan Jifeng, chief physician of the Department of Neurology, Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, described a case: a man in his 40s was sent to the hospital by his wife

    After rescue, the man was out of danger, but unfortunately, there was still irreversible damage to the lower limbs of the body, and it was difficult to walk in the future

    Drinking alcohol causes cerebral hemorrhage, and many alcoholic patients can be said to have no awareness of this

      Wan Jifeng explained that drinking-induced cerebral hemorrhage mainly has the following reasons:

      First, long-term heavy drinking affects the liver first.

      Second, alcohol can act on the nerves and vascular system.

      Third, alcohol will stimulate the blood vessel wall, damage the intima of the blood vessel, make the blood vessel lose its elasticity, cause hardening of the blood vessel, and make the blood vessel more likely to rupture

      In patients with three highs, cerebral arteriosclerosis, etc.

      The world's top medical journal "The Lancet" published an article in 2018 that pointed out that the safest amount of drinking is zero, that is, no drinking is the most beneficial to health

      Many people think that drinking too much alcohol is bad for one's health, and drinking less is good for health.
