Original title: Eat more salmon and shrink breast cancer cells
According to a new Canadian study, the nutrients contained in salmon can reduce the size of breast malignancies by 60% to 70%.
the study was conducted by a research team at Guihu University in Canada. The researchers asked laboratory mice still in embryos to ingest different types of omega 3 fatty acids, such as plant or sea fish sources, and continued to feed the substance after they were born. They then observed the progression of her condition after developing a highly malignant breast tumor, HER-2 breast cancer, in mice. Such tumors are more dangerous, prone to recurrence and metastasis, and have a shorter survival period, poor clinical prognosis (refers to the prediction of the possible course and outcome of the disease, such as rehabilitation, complications, death, etc.). Experimental results show that omega 3 in salmon can effectively compress 70% of the size of breast malignancies.
Professor David Ma, who co-authored the study, said:
Previous studies have found that omega 3 fatty acids prevent and fight cancer by activating immune system-related genes and blocking the path of tumor growth. In this experiment, mice exposed to different types of omega 3 fatty acids when they were not yet formed, which allowed us to compare the differences in the effectiveness of these different sources of omega 3 fatty acids in the prevention and treatment of malignant tumors. Plant-sourced omega 3 fatty acids, such as cannabis oil, require larger doses to have the same anti-cancer effect. The
recommend eating salmon two to three times a week to ensure optimal intake of omega 3 fatty acids. In the future, they hope to study whether omega 3 fatty acids can fight other cancers.
