The Colombian website "Agronegocios" reported on February 25 that in order to increase the number of entities authorized to export, the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Research Agency (ICA), the Colombian Hass Avocado Production and Export Company (Corpohass) and the Avocado Association and their approximate 15,000 registered producers have worked together to ensure that Hass avocado meets sanitary and animal and plant quarantine requirements through strict supervision.

The eight Colombian farms approved for export to China are located in the provinces of Antioquia, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda and Quindio.
The General Administration of Customs of China stated that these farms “have excellent fruit fly monitoring procedures, use raw materials registered with the Colombian ICA, strictly comply with the withdrawal period, and the products can be traced from planting to export”.

Colombian Minister of Agriculture, Rodolfo Zea Navarro, said: "We are very happy to pass this news to Hass avocado producers and exporters.
This is the result of the Colombian government’s promotion of'health diplomacy'.
It is their support for agricultural development.
The authorization of new production and processing entities will continue to promote the growth of avocado exports because the Chinese market has huge consumption potential.
    "

Colombian ICA general manager Deyanira Barrero León (Deyanira Barrero León) emphasized the work of Colombia’s animal and plant quarantine system.
Due to strict compliance with international market requirements, Hass avocados have won the trust of the Chinese market.
    China.
He said: "The prospects for the Chinese market are broad and our focus is our work.
Therefore, we work in teams, from small farms to large processing plants, to provide them with more opportunities.
    "

Colombian Ambassador to China Luis Diego Monsalve Hoyos (Luis Diego Monsalve Hoyos) said: “We will always be here to provide firm support to the Hass avocado industry to help them export their products to China.
Please encourage Colombian producers to export to this important market.
