The Beijing Genomics Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences published epigenome database MethBank 3.0 and published its results in The Research of Nucleic Acids research online under the title MethBank 3.0:a database of DNA through a variety of species.
Methbank 3.0 incorporates a large amount of DNA methylation data.
As an important part of epigenetic modification, dna methylation plays an important role in human diseases and aging, animal embryo development and plant growth and development.
MethBank 3.0 provided 450K chip data from 4577 peripheral blood samples of healthy humans and compiled into 34 different age groups of the reference methylation group (consensus methylomes, CRMs); The matching sons of 336 monobase precision methylation groups (single-base methylomes, STMs) and two model animals (zebrafish and mice) of cash crops (rice, soybeans, cassava, beans and tomatoes) in multiple tissues at different stages of development were in the 18 monobase-precision methylation groups of early embryonic development.
, MethBank 3.0 has more detailed, systematic annotation and analysis than previous versions, identifying 692 age-related methylation sites, 2371 age-independent sites, and 304886 differential methylation starters (DMPs)), 53,680 age-specific methylation sites (age-specific DMCs), 1716 age-specific methylation areas (age-specific DMRs), and 693,825 methylated CpG islands.
in addition, Methbank 3.0 provides two analytical tools (Age Predictor and IDMP) for predicting a person's methylation age and identifying differential methylation starters, respectively.
Methbank 3.0 is equipped with friendly browsing, querying and visualization capabilities, allowing users to retrieve methylation information via gene ID/ymbol, genomic location, etc., browse designated species differential methylation promoters or high methylation CpG islands, and download all relevant annotation data and analysis results via ftp.
research work has been supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences strategic leading science and technology project, the Chinese Academy of Sciences international cooperation plan, the national science and technology research plan, the national high-tech research and development plan (863 plan), the Chinese Academy of Sciences 100 people program, etc.
