    According to the recommendations of the European Association of Breast Cancer Experts (EUSOMA), breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been increasingly used for breast cancer screening , detection and staging.

    After MRI finds high-risk patients with BIRADS 4, 5 and BIRADS 3 disease, pathological examination should be performed by MRI-guided needle biopsy.


    Recently, a study published in European Radiology evaluated the feasibility of MRI-guided breast biopsy for DWI lesion location, and also evaluated the accuracy of the device's positioning on DWI during the biopsy process.


    This study retrospectively analyzed 87 consecutive biopsy operations (5 cases were bilateral) from March 2019 to June 2020.

    The mass-like lesions ranged from 5 to 48 mm, with an average size of 10.

        DWI can be used as a low-cost, high-reliability technique for preoperative detection and location of masses and non-mass-like lesions, and the minimum detectable size can reach 5 mm.
