    Sarcopenia is a progressive and systemic skeletal muscle disease that is associated with an increased likelihood of adverse consequences including falls, fractures, physical disability, and mortality.


    Recently, a study published in the journal European Radiology used CT-based preoperative body composition analysis to quantitatively assess the muscle mass and quantity of patients with pancreatic cancer, and evaluated its relationship with pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) for pancreatic cancer.


    This study retrospectively included 116 patients (68 males and 48 females, with an average age of 66.

    The 3-year DFS and OS rates were 8% and 25%, respectively.
