Feng Zijian, deputy director of the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said on the 26th that the traceability of the new coronavirus is a complex scientific task that requires global cooperation, long-term continuous efforts, and orderly and effective development, rather than focusing only on a certain place or a certain time.

Feng Zijian made the above remarks at the briefing of the diplomatic envoys in China held on the same day by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the joint scientific research on the traceability of the novel coronavirus between China and WHO.

From January 14 to February 10 this year, China and WHO international experts formed a joint expert group to jointly carry out the work of global traceability to China in Wuhan.

Feng Zijian participated in this work as one of the Chinese experts.

Feng Zijian said that the new crown pneumonia epidemic is the largest infectious disease epidemic and the largest health emergency in a century.

Feng Zijian told more than 100 envoys and diplomats in China from 50 countries, the African Union and the Arab League that as early as January last year, the Chinese government began to arrange relevant Chinese experts for traceability work.

After the completion of the Chinese part of the global traceability of the new crown virus in February this year, the China-WHO Joint Expert Group on the Traceability of the New Crown Virus held a press conference in Wuhan to report the situation.

Feng Zijian said that both the international expert group and the Chinese experts are very grateful to the local government for their efforts and cooperation.

"Experts think that they have seen everything they want to see, everyone they want to see, and the insiders who want to interview have been interviewed, and the on-site research work has been carried out as planned.

"Traceability is a scientific work.

In response to politicians and so-called experts in individual countries taking the opportunity to discredit China, Yang Tao, director of the International Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who attended the briefing on the 26th, said that the cooperation between China and the WHO is joint scientific research, not the so-called "investigation" of individual countries.
