German experts: to promote China-Germany anti-epidemic scientific research cooperation to achieve sustainable development

-Ditt Corank, an expert in virology and immunology in Marburg, Germany, has been in close communication with Chinese scientists on severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) since the SARS outbreak in 2002-2003. Since the outbreak of neo-crown pneumonia broke out worldwide, Professor Kolanke has paid great attention to the development of the epidemic. In his view, China and Germany should continue to strengthen scientific cooperation and work together to overcome difficult times.
Kolank points out that both Germany and China are gradually improving the situation of epidemic prevention and control, the number of infections has decreased significantly, but given that the virus is unlikely to disappear quickly around the world, it is important to continue to be alert to the arrival of a second or even a third wave of infection.
From the SARS period to the present, Professor Kolanke has been interacting frequently with Chinese scientists, not only with Chinese research institutions, including more than
affiliated institutions, Fudan University's Key Laboratory of Medical Molecular Virology, etc., but also to China at least once or twice a year for academic exchanges.
said in an interview that since the outbreak, he has regularly communicated with Chinese experts online, between them and their views. He believes that it is important to continue to study the virus, and that the variation and biological characteristics of the virus are also the focus of research on both sides. There is already a broad basis for cooperation between infectious and virologists in China and Germany, and a long-term normalization mechanism should be established to further deepen such cooperation.
