Guangdong Xinhui further expands the "rice" road

Following the first study and demonstration of saline-alkali-tolerant rice in Xinhui District of Guangdong in May this year, experts from the National Hybrid Rice Engineering Technology Research Center, the Binhai Agricultural College of Guangdong Ocean University and other units recently visited Xinhui District for on-site inspection and guidance

It is understood that saline-alkali-tolerant rice generally grows in seaside tidal flat areas.

According to experts, these saline-alkali-tolerant rice varieties grow well in the field, grow neatly, have moderate plant types, have good stalk toughness, and are not lodged.

The relevant person in charge of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Xinhui District said that the research and demonstration of saline-alkali-tolerant rice in Xinhui has an important demonstration significance for rice cultivation in coastal areas of Guangdong, and will further expand the “rice” road in the Greater Bay Area and build a solid foundation for food production.
