    Recently, researcher Lai Liangxue of Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and associate professor Zou Qingjian of Wuyi University collaborated for the first time to fuse adenosine deaminase with transcription activator-like effector (TALE) to develop a Cas9-dependent An off-target novel base editing system TaC9-ABE


    Single-base editing technology can replace a single base of DNA without generating double-strand breaks, so it has efficient and precise gene editing capabilities, and can introduce point mutations in animal and plant cells for breeding with Gene-edited plants and animals with ideal phenotypes can also correct pathogenic point mutations for gene therapy of inherited diseases


    In the TaC9-ABE base editing system, the researchers linked nCas9 to the gRNA, while adenine deaminase linked to another TALE with navigational roles


    Researcher Lai Liangxue and Associate Professor Zou Qingjian are the co-corresponding authors of the paper
