On October 9, the international academic journal JCI Insight published online the latest research results of the research group of Li Yinxiong, Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, Chinese Academy of Sciences, " Hypomorphic ASGR1 modulates lipid homeostasis via INSIG1-mediated SREBP signaling suppression "

Dyslipidemia is a major risk factor for the development of metabolic diseases, including fatty liver, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and stroke

ASGR1 is a protein specifically and highly expressed in hepatocytes, which mainly mediates the endocytosis and clearance of desialylated glycoproteins

Further mechanism studies have found that ASGR1 deletion can induce the up-regulation of INSIG1 at the protein level, thereby anchoring SREBPs, the key transcription factor regulating lipid metabolism in the endoplasmic reticulum, and inhibiting the normal transport, shear maturation and nuclear regulation downstream of SREBPs.

Researcher Li Yinxiong is the corresponding author of the paper, and Xu Yingying, Tao Jiawang and Yu Xiaorui are the co-first authors of the paper
