    The EEID project supports interdisciplinary research on the ecological, evolutionary, organismal and social laws and processes that affect the spread of infectious diseases

    Research fields can include (but are not limited to): the determinants and interrelationships of infectious diseases spreading between humans, non-human animals and/or plants, for example: the spread of pathogens; the influence of environmental factors (such as climate); the natural host or The population dynamics and inheritance of the host; how the biology or behavior of the pathogen, vector or host species affects the transmission dynamics; the feedback between ecological transmission and evolutionary dynamics; the cultural, social, behavioral and economic factors of pathogen transmission

    The types of infectious diseases can be targeted at infectious diseases originating from animals, environment, vector, intestines, and respiratory tracts in terrestrial, freshwater or marine systems; biological types can be targeted at plant or animal infectious diseases; the research scope and scale can range from specific pathogens to the whole Environmental system

    Researchers are encouraged to form multidisciplinary teams.

    The following research content does not belong to the scope of support of this project:

    (1) Limited to genetic models that focus on evolutionary changes (such as comparative genomics);

    (2) Only focus on human disease itself without considering the broader ecological environment;

    (3) Only focus on pathogen discovery;

    (4) Only focus on the study of biological processes in the host;

    (5) Only focus on the ecology of vector species;

    (6) At least one pathogenic microorganism for key research has not been pre-determined;

    (7) Pay attention to antimicrobial resistance without considering the dynamics of pathogen transmission
